Cheapest/Easiest way to add bass control knob?

not being powered, i don't know how it can amplify the signal, only decrease it. Passive tone controls only go from 0db down to nothing, not boost.Anyway, I stumbled onto this one day, bought it and loved it.

so on yours, thats what it does? The max of the knob is the max setting you want the amp turned to? If so, then thats exactly what i want. And i see what you mean about it not being able to amplify the signal.

the low pass XO was also a great feature since i came out of a stock radio to a LOC, then to this.

Set your gains on the amp with this thing wide open and you should be fine.

honestly, i dont know what you mean. i will be using stock hu with a line convertor, so i guess LOC? line-out-convertor? Not sure what you mean by speaker level input though.

What does that actually do??Attenuate the preamp signal coming from the source before it gets to the amp?

I'm not sure exactly how it works but I'm assuming you are correct it has the ability to attenuate preamp signal due to the fact it works off of the RCA's. I have used these in a few installs 2 of which were LOC's off the factory head unit and it these knobs worked great allowing the customer to keep bass level controls of the head unit fairly low to avoid distortion of mids and highs and allowing them a quick adjust of sub level.
