OK... I know the best thing would be to buy a nice expensive DMM and all that good **** but I do not have that much to spend... I really don't have any to spend but I figure if a chep-o one will work than I can manage to spend a tiny bit of money...

Just looking for something to use to set my gains and such as I am sick of blowing subs. Just traded my 4Kw for a 2000D and got a recone from TeamPSI along with a new cell phone and i DO NOT want ot have to recone again, well more importantly i DO NOT want to blow another sub!

Specificaly this one:

Sears has them for 20. Pretty popular choice and no shipping. I think mine is craftsman.

I'm sure we'd all like fluke dmm's, but I'm not sure if their needed for our needs.

That the exact one I have from Canadian tire that I got on sale also. Works great.
I like it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Where 'bouts you from?

For all of you who are using cheap DMM's. They are fine for car use, but don't use them for any house (120v AC) testing!!!

I have had no problems with mine at 120 or 240 volts.
Its about safety. A cheap DMM will explode if there is a problem. A good DMM (fluke etc.) will just blow a fuse.

Using a cheap DMM with 240v is just retarded. Search the net for pics of arc flash burns, maybe it will change your mind.

I don't use it for home purposes that much, I mostly use it for checking shorted out components when I'm repairing amps. The only way I would be worried is if the amperage was high at 120 or 240 volts.
