My sons 2 HC800 set idle for like 4 months.. Last night I tried hooking them up to the charger and 5 hrs later they only read 6.7 volts. Are they no good or do I need a special charger for them? I have never had a problem charging batts before but these things will not budge.

Ok.. I will try that. I am going to run up to our cabin today and grab our stage 3 charger and try them on that also. It looks to be like the one kinetik sells also. I hope it works these batts are only 9 months old.

another 1 bites the dust... lol how many amps was it charging them at?
The charger I was using I was at 12 amps... The one I am going to get at my cabin does like 2-12 and 20 amps and also battery reconditioning.

I have a couple of the HC800s in my boat, hooked to an isolator. I have discharged them to around 9v before. They have always came back up for me and they are a little over a year old. Good luck, let us know what happens with them.

the one I have is not the kinetik version but seems to be the exact charger I have for charging my deep cell boat batteries...

Just dropped a 2400 in my wakeboard boat.. Def will report back hopefully this other charger does the trick.. think I will do the battery reconditioning on them...

AGM batteries need a charger with an AGM mode. A regular charger can start off charging at over 15+ volts which can be pretty tough on small AGM batteries. Also being they are under warranty you should be fine anyway as they have awesome customer service.

Might get to check that customer service as I get a fault saying batteries are no good, need new batteries. The test at like 5.9 volts crazy they went that low in 3.5 months of non use????????????????

Sounds to me like you over charged them with a charger not ment for AGM batteries. What was the voltage at before you charged them?
