Charging 4 x NSB90 batteries

Hi lads

Just couple questions here:

So have 4 batteries, what would be the most reasonable charger for them ? size/price/effective

Need to charge all 4 batteries at the same time, what voltage and amps i need from the charger.

Also how to use the power supply like that ?

http://www.nevadaradio.co.uk/acatalog/Palstar_sps9600.html

I cant let the power supply to charge them all night long right ?

So that would be useful only between burps at sound offs or i can still use it as a main charger as well ?

tnx in advance

I and many people use the powermaster charger, it automatically goes into float mode to charge overnite or for days, but its on the pricier side like $350 maybe, especially to over seas

Can you post me the link or something for that, so i can make a research even for similar one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Every little helps, as i have no charger at the moment and batteries flat, so no tests //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I charged my NSB125s with a trickle charger for like a week a piece and they charged right up. I only paid about $30 for the charger at Checker.
LOL, why would you want to charge it for a week? I don't have that kind of time. If you want a free option, take them to Autozone and get them charged for free in about an hour or so. If you want to be able to charge them at home and faster than you can digest a block of Velveeta, buy one of the power supplies I linked above.

I wasnt using them yet so I had plenty of time to charge them..... I had a 10A charger too but I thought the trickle would be a better charge. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Nope, if you only trickle charge your batteries, it can lead to stratification, which means that the acid will fall out of solution and collect near the bottom of the battery. This will lead to lower output and possibly battery failure. To keep this from happening, you must use a proper charger that can charge at higher voltage and higher amperage. The Kinetik Power Supplies are a perfect match.

Kinetik Power Supplies will work fine with all brands of batteries. They are 100% automatic. For those 4 batteries, I suggest the 60a or 80a. The 45a would take too long to charge four deeply discharged batteries.
Tnx loopkiller ! ! !//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So basicly that one will do the job as well ? Power Supply

Well that model on eBay will work, but it is not automatic. What you will need to do with that unit is connect the batteries, set the voltage to the max that your batteries can charge at (probably 14.4v~15.0v). You will need to keep an eye on the amperage draw and when it reaches 2A, reduce the voltage to 13.6v. You can then keep them connected until the amperage draw is under 1/2A. At that point, they should be fully charged.

You could avoid all of that work by simply using the automated power supply from Kinetik. There are other brands of chargers as well. The Kinetik is just the one I have used before and know they work well.

im using a 50 dollar one from wal mart and it automatically goes down from 12A to 8A to 2A when necessary

i dont see anything wrong with it, besides the fact that it taes forever

Many many tnx to ya lad ! ! ! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The only prob here is that its almost impossible to get kinetik one ... As it will be very pricey to get it delivered to Europe and takes ages and bla bla lol

So just looking for alternative, your post gave me lots of light //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

tnx
