Changing head unit in 13 Yukon Denali Hybrid

Have anyone ever changed out the head unit in a Yukon Denali Hybrid? I really want to swap out the factory nav for a better option. I was at a local shop in NYC and he was like nooo don't change it , you will have problems. I can't see how.

because the dude didnt know how to do it so he made up some b.s. lol

if u take it to someone knowledgeable u will be just fine, do ur research and pick a good shop, im sure theres plenty in the big apple

Changing the head unit is possible with the right electronics to interface with the vehicle. You can't keep satellite radio, but just about everything feature-wise will stay. In a different thread, http://www.caraudio.com/forums/general-discussion/629481-if-u-just-wanted-clean-up-your-sound-double-what-would-u-do.html , you mentioned you want to do speakers, a DSP, and amps. Taking the factory amplifier out of the picture makes the DSP upgrade easier and opens up options.

I purchase a 2012 Yukon Denali Hybrid with the premium bose navigation system. The headunit was horribly outdated. Replaced with a new Pioneer AVH-W440NEX. Best Buy installed free with purchase, used iDataLink Maestro for retention of steering wheel controls. Much better than stock BUT, for AMAZING difference, use CD-MC20 Auto-EQ microphone. It makes toleration of bose speakers and DSP amp MUCH easier.
