Ever hear something, or a combination of somethings that just makes you want to laugh out loud and cry all at once? I just had one of those moments....
Well this just in from Best Buy:
18 gauge cable is the biggest speaker wire you can get into a speaker terminal. (he pointed to the sheathing on the 10ga. cable, to show me that "10 gauge is huge" i didn't bother explaining to him that inserting the sheathing into the terminal wasn't necessary //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
And the kicker:
Regardless of whether you have spade terminals or set-screw terminals on your amplifier, you always need to use a spade connector, and then 'clamp' the spade with the setscrew, because "the ends of the wire will break without the spades"
I couldn't deal with it long enough to get any words of wisdom.
I honestly don't know what to say. I'm speachless. This guy was the head installer, too. If i got my amp back from installation, and there were spades crammed into my set screw terminals, i would go apeshit.
