CES Fi Style!

Mark... Too rich for my blood to buy both of the Klippel units. Id rather spend the $$$ on more machinery than two rack mount items and some programs. Still sorting through some of the functions coding but I have about 95% the functionality I need. Working on a reference table for the temp sensor right now and trying to find time to finish up a pressure vessel to "automate" the process. Right now it just runs tons of iterations based on power (which is close to real world) but Id like it to be able to do it small signal measured at different excursions as well. This would also make some of the industrial things we are working on easier to test too for leakage.

Bose301s... Ill keep my mouth shut on that one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Im trying to dedicate as much time this year to tweeters as possible. I know relatively little about them vs subs and mids. The laser will help with that big time. Tons of iterations with tiny changes on a common platform first... then branching out from there. Always looking to move more things in house and while I have made a run of 1 tweeter, it was based off of available parts and not from scratch. I have lots of ideas that I want to make a reality for high frequency drivers.

Very cool, I am definitely looking forward to see what you come up with. When I graduate college I really want to get into driver design like you are doing, that is my dream as of now, lol.

Sorry if I missed it, because I am on my phone at the moment, but did you give s time frame for the release date of the btl 22? If not include details. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Thanks

audioholic... investing in the "6 spoke" TC frame, not the "4". The 10" and 12" frames fall under the "4" spoke patent while we now have the "6" spoke. We are currently tooling a 12" with 6 legs. As for the 22" that had been rumored for this style... design is done, but we are holding off a couple of months before we fork over the $$$ for tooling. We want to see how solid of a seller the AA SMD Series in 15" and 18" will be first. Not everthing needs that much clearance and a good portion of the drivers and designs we have will work well with the good old 12 spoke. Fi wont be using that basket, but AA will. Just trying to push the two lines even further apart.

Jimj... seems more and more interest in some HT stuff. While we definitely will have the IB3 in a 22", we have been playing with the idea of creating more HT specific drivers as well. But it might not under the Fi name. Something about the Fi car audio crowd seems to turn off some of the HT buyers (as well as some of the car audio buyers as well, lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )
So if Im understanding correctly, Fi wont use the TC style basket ever?
Im confused on the 22" version you mention here. We are just now getting glimpses of a new 22" version 12-spoke style frame, but you seem to be indicating there will also be a 22" version of the 6-spoke as well? That would look.... interesting. lol

Thanks for the info.

Fi will use the "TC" style basket for 15's and 18's only. The patent does not include the "TC" style basket for 10's or 12's.

scott said fi won't be using the tc style basket, fyi //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah I kinda misinterpreted what he said.

I get Fi and AA switched up sometimes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

This is completely not thread related, but I figure it might be a good place to ask since Scott is in here. What kind of schooling would be ideal if I wanted to work for a speaker company such as yourself or one of the bigger names like Kicker/RF/JL? I am currently working towards my mechanical engineering degree.

The 22" basket looks sick. I'm gonna have to find a room/car that can fit a 22" driver before I can think about buying one though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
