Cerwin Vega Vs. Sundown

I am getting ready to order the gear for my Mustang. I am trying to decide between the Cerwin Vega Stroker 2000.1 and the Sundown SAZ-1500v2. I will be running a pair of these amps, so I am looking at either 4000 watts RMS from the Vega's, or 3000 watts RMS from the Sundowns. The cost for the pair will be $1100 for the Strokers, or $1050 for the Sundowns. $50 for an additional 1000 watts RMS seems worth it to me. The subs I'm running can handle the power of either with no issues. Which would you use and why?

** note** each amp will be pushing its own sub at a 1 ohm load.

Cost... Either way is cheaper than the SAZ-3500.

Install appearance... **** poor reason, I know, but the car is not a daily driver and will be used as a show and soundoff car. A trio of amps has better symetry than two amps of different sizes. (Front stage amp)

Preperation for product failure... one amp quits, one sub quits. Easy to identify and I still have one going while I wait for repair.

oh lord, not another one of these thread.

Everyone will tell you to go with the SD amps because they are underrated and are really good amps. They'll do way more than rated power so you're actually getting more for your money. Blah, blah, blah. Just go with the SD amps and save us from another one of these thread

here is a review of the stroker 2000.1 amps http://cerwinvegamobile.com/reviews/cerwin_vega_mobile_s2000_1.pdf

I am planning on a 280 amp alternator, 0 gauge big 3, and a big Kinetic or XS battery under the hood. I am looking at 4400 watts RMS for the 3 amps. You think I should run more than one battery? System will only be used with the car running, and obviously it will only be close to max power at dB drags... I like my hearing intact!

Go with the Stroker just to be different, they seem to be solid amps. They're class "GH" amps instead of the normal class D.

FYI the name Cerwin Vega has been around since the early 60s and has been specializing in bass for a loooooong time. They are one of the most prominent company in the name of bass.

I used to sell Cerwin Vega back in the mid to late 90's... I have installed the original Stroker subwoofers in more vehicles then I can count... never had product failure unless we abused them. They either didn't make amps back then, or we just didn't have them in our shop. The old V-Flex Vega 8" were pretty **** bada$$... when our shop closed I bought 10 of them for $20 a piece. I did one in a SQ install with a Focal front stage on a Zapco amp, and the other 9 went into a mini van... I made a ported enclosure that doubled as a base for a matress. I am a long time Cerwin Vega fan... but I am also biased which is why I asked for opinions. Thank you for yours!

Go CV! Everyone knows Sundown these days and it would be different to see an oldschool brand at a show. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
