dont really know too much bout powerbase or earthquake but for what ive heard vegas got some nice stuff, i got a pair of some older home vegas and they are EXTREMELY loud while holding decent quality

I have that "friend of a friend"... anyway, a guy I know has a friend with 2 Cerwin-Vega Strokers, and he said they are insanely loud. How is the sound quality of these subs - no guessing either. Either you know, or you don't. Is this sub more made for Sq or SPL?

From what I hear the Powerbase xtreme will sound way better as well as hit harder than those two. A guy on SD hit 151db lin X with one 15. These things are supposed to be some of the best sounding spl sub on the market.

I used to have earthquakes a long time ago, i really liked them, good sound quality espeically for the price. Don't know how the new ones sound though. Car Audio Magazine did a test a couple years ago (don't know which issue), and one of their subs placed first in sound quality. Haven't heard the other brands.

Earthquake = used to have good products but not any more.

Cerwin Vega = Decent products. But not a favorite for many.

Powerbase = Never heard, but have heard of, and they sound to be a good product.

The reason everyone talks about ED, RE, JL... Is because they are far better than these listed products and most people "men" Want the biggest baddest "equipment".

And take in to factor the price factor on the above listed equipment. Excluding JL of course, but for a little more dough than Vega or Powerbase you can get a much better product from another company.

Just my 2 and a 1/2 cents.

had a few vega 124's... do alright with 300wrms in 2.5 cubes. lil muddy on the low end.

gotta stroker 18d4. imagine a jackehammer strapped to your headrest. really is that loud. AND really sounds that bad. gotta be great in comp.'s but not good for daily beats. selling soon to try out a xxx15. (im starting to like hearing the actual music coming out of the radio now.)

Powerbase, I have not heard them but a few respected car audio friends I know love them (PBX's that is) look into the Atomic Apocalypse
