I have a choice between two Cerwin Vega Stealths or two Kenwood Whirlwinds (10's).

Both types are 150 RMS each.

Which subs would you guys say are better? I dont know if either of these are SQ or SPL so if you know, hook me up.

Thanks

audiolife....I normally agree with you but if this is looking at a buy one get one free deal which is what this obviously is....why would he want to go look azt a $300+ sub....Sure it better than both of his but if he can't aford it then whats the point....besides I like the bahama series better...Isn't it supose to be better then the shiva?.....Hey Fonzy....just my opinion but I did not like the SQ of the CV's your looking at....sorry is you guys disagree but here I'm going with the kenwoods....

a shiva is 125 bucks and is a 12" which i bet would put out just as much as a pair of either of these 10's and would sound better + go lower....... as a "generic rule" it takes 2 8's to out due a 10" 2- 10's to beat a 12" ect with all haveing same design...thing is a shiva has ALOT of displacement for a 12 in this price range and is pretty smooth..hell if i was on a buget these would be in my ride!! i crapped my pants hearing it in this home theater it literially blew away a powered sub of 4 times its cost total and i wont say what it beat cause i actually like what it beat lol

oops looks like I got the price of the bahama series and the shiva mixed up...sorry about that....I would love to have two bahama 12's with two jbl 1200.1 in my car but I don't think I'd be able to have windows at the same time...lol

well if he doesn't get the shiva then I still say the kenwood sound better than the CV

oh great make me feel like a newbie too..j/k...I just saw adire audio two days ago and fell in love with the specs but I have never heard them...Have you heard them before?

yea my friend built a home sub to "replace " his 15" powered sub (wont tell you what it is lol but its better than a jbl by far) he got some mono home amp 400 watts rms built a box (finished it real nice too) threw in the shiva and i tell you this that driver is better than most drivers in home theater set ups sold at stores only thing i think is better pre made sold here is a sunfire and that is debatable....they have higher models just the shop here doesnt have em in stock

Newbie? Settle down my friend, thats quite the term to be throwing at people. This isnt any "ciruit city" deal because there is now way in hell that youre going to get Kenwood DVC's for the same price as CV stealths especially since the stealths have been discontinued for a while now. I used to have CV stealths, my system got stolen. I got some money back from insurance but not enough for the whole system therefore im lacking a "real" sub amp. I bought the kenwood DVC's now I have the oppurtunity to sell the the Kenwoods and buy some CV's again but because I couldnt get all my gear back I dont have an amp that gives the subs the same amount of power as before so I dont know if the Kenwoods are actually better than the CV's (they used to kick). I wanted to see what you guys thought. I figured the CV's were SPL but I thought id ask.

And yeah ive heard good things about the Adire Shivas and Brahmas but I dont have that kind of dough especially paying in Canadian dollars.

Peace

if you werent a newbie you would have known what to look for on sumthin "brand" compairing ..something like how to use aparodic membranes or somthin to that effect isnt a newbie q.... simple laws will hold true unless its sq.....displacement=bass, power is power and buy what you think sounds good/best ...the later is the most important as noone hears the same and you could have different tastes....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Oh im sorry, I didnt realize asking for some opinions makes me a newbie, i'll be sure to stop doing that from now on.....wanker. Sure im a newbie in some aspects but to call someone a newbie is pure ********. You cant buy what you think sounds best when your market is used gear so I asked. Anyway, I knew some guys in here were smug but im not here to impress, think whatever you want.

being called a newbie isnt an insult in fact admitting it or even needing help shows an open mind to learn..as for opinions...everbody has one.. knowledge on the other hand having been there done that is a different issue altogether
