So, the hierarchy is fucked.. from what holic is implying that if I were to get scammed its not in his mod status to help me out by locating an IP, or banning said member who scammed me. WTF?!

Basically there are only rules for the general population while the elite population, in social economical terms, the 1 % have free access to power with no checks or balances except that their power is limited in one fashion. They can do what they wish with their power at their disgression.. that is so fucked up..Imagine if our policitical parties were like this.. hrrmmmm

We can look up an IP, but it is not our job to go hunting down the scammer, recover the item or money, and the member should only be banned once everything is cleared up. To ban sooner would only make it more difficult as you are shutting off the main line of communication.

Sorry but im not retarded, thats very logical.. But the point is, thats all your worth, because you have no basis of ethics on this site and whats an approved action of a mod, or the power to act in the ethical way ( goob only has this power). You rely to much on conscientiousness of mods and vendors.. there should be a constitution of ca.com that sets rules of ethical action for mods and rules for mods and vendors to abide by.

I'm a little unclear as to exactly what you're saying, as we have mentioned a few times that goob needs to have clear details in terms of the moderators in the vendor sections. Some vendors will never need to be worried about, but others have caused a great deal of tension with the population.

 

What people might have an unclear understanding is that, the vendors do not own the information they post in their sections that they have paid for, they have only paid for the right to have that section to highlight their products or services. Goob (Chris), owns all information on this site.

Yes, your first paragraph is what I was mention about ethical actions of mods and vendors need to be set and the ca constitution. The sad thing is mods that are actually do what is ethical or perhaps do what is morally right dont have the power to act, they are limited, only goob holds this power..

That is the exact point though. There are several forums out there and as with anything online, we are all free to frequent them.

If you do a search on here you will find that every few years this exact conversation is had and the general result is next to no change. The basic reasoning is very simple. Goob and the bulk of the forum do not think there needs to be a change. There are a few who would like to see change, and even more who would welcome it. However, most will just "roll with the punches" of the forum as it has been this way since it's conception.
