Cell Phone mic issue (RAZR)

My GF took my phone to Texas because my service area is nation wide. Tonight she called me and it worked fine. 10 minutes later she calls me and i can't hear her but she can hear me. All i can hear is some background noise not static. After a few tries it works, then cuts out. The battery/sim was removed no change. The phone was tapped thinking there was debris in the mic, no change. I've searched a few phone forums, but didn't find anything. Is this a service issue or a phone issue? My money's on phone but i am a cell phone noob.

Its a RAZR V3 on Cing-...I mean ATT service

if it's still under warrenty just get it replaced. or if you have phone insurance. my guess would be phone though since you said you can hear background noise. you would think if it was your SP you would either hear it all or nothing

The phone is going on two years old. In 2 months my contract is upand my whole family is going to T mobile.

Background noise was a poor description on my part. It's more of the cell phone noise floor if that makes any sense.
