Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for their cause, but does anyone else see the hypocritical undertones in just about anything Bono or any celebrity activist says? Bono will tell the world "why do we need so much, but give so little?" just after stepping off his private jet and into his chauffered Bentley.
I get it, he has a conscience. He's delivering the right message, and I believe he certainly has the right intentions. But how can any celebrity, any human being raking in $30 million per motion picture honestly talk about the unfair distribution of wealth in the world?
I can assure you Sean Penn, Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, et al are not living modest, commonman lifestyles.
I'm not entirely sure of what percentile Bono gives to third world nations out of his own pocket, but little does he realize that while he's chastising Prime Minister Paul Martin or President Bush for not donating enough of the GDP to Africa, the amount he spends in a day can feed a child for months.
All you need to do is pay 100 bucks for a U2 concert ticket, buy a 70 dollar U2 t shirt while you're there, and you can be an official humanitarian too!
All of those ****s make me sick. "3% of every ticket sale will go to helping children in 3rd world countries". Big ****in deal. If Bono was really a charitable person, he would tour for a year and give ALL of the proceeds to charity, he can certainly afford it. All of these multimillionaire rock stars who have "benefit concerts" are idiots. One single concert won't do much. They swear like they can't afford to work for a year towards charity. I mean, aren't they doing it for the music and not the money anyways?
Although maybe I'm the only one holding this opinion on such celebrities.
Oh wait I can't forget Angelina Jolie adopts kids from third world nations, but screw the poor kids in America //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
