i can tell you what i have been told/read but up front i'll let you know that i don't have experience with any of those amps.
iirc, there was a review somewhere where somebody swapped out a genesis for a tru steel and was pleased with the results.
never encountered a direct comparison to mcintosh so i don't want to speculate on that. honest guess; it might be more fair to compare the mc's to the billet series or higher. like i said i'm not sure.
tube amps are a completely different animal so i wouldn't compare them at all.
the steels are considered one of the best "entry level high end" amps (if such a thing exists) by many. tru is also one of the few brands still made in the usa. i'll say at ~$500 nib, authorized, and warrantied you'd be hard pressed to find an amp with a better reputation.
