I listen to alot of metal. Are these speakers a bad choice? I have approx. 100w to each from a Hifonics amp and Alpine HU. The speakers seem overly bright. Would I benefit from a better set of components and perhaps an additional set of midbass drivers?

Cant fint those on the CDT website, please send a link to the exact comps so we can see the specs.

What CDT comp set would compare to Rainbow SLC or Crystal SSCS6? And how well would they compare?
With the CDT's I have heard, the midbass on the SSCS6's are in a different league. I have 200w going to mine crossed @ 80hz and the midbass on my friends rock songs kick you right in the chest, hard. This is without deadening, in basically an IB setup. When I seal it off and add 30sqft per door of deadening, it will be incredible, out of this world.

The neo magnets on the SSCS6's are as big as most normal magnets on other drivers.

I really didn't think the SSCS6's would be as amazing as people were hyping them up to be. But my god, they surpassed what I was expected, and couldn't think of a better set of components for $150 shipped, let alone up into the $300 echelon.
