I am thinking of purchasing the CDT Audio CL-61A - CDT Audio Classic 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers from woofersetc.com, because they are only $140.00 shipped. How do these speakers stack up against the competition (rainbow, canton, scanspeak, etc)? I am looking for something with a nice soft tweeter, not too soft, and a lot of midbass, which can take a good 70wrms or so. Anyone run these? Any cons??

Thanks

If you could find rainbow or canton or scanspeak for $140...
They're not in the same league as the above, but they aren't nearly the same price point either. That said for the money they are good comps.
Yeah, I have champaign taste on a beer budget //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

I have the cdt cl-62's, the big brother to the cl-61's. From my experience, the tweeter in great, really smooth and soft, but can blare when you want it. The mid bass is decent, not the greatest, but def not the worst. You need to deaden your doors to really improve the bass in these things, as well as any other speaker. I would say send them at least 120w, and they will please you without a doubt.
