the menus.

is it different than the 8445? i didnt think those menus were too hard to navigate....just takes some getting used to.

the 8445 menus arent that bad, but they could be better.

I'm going to be replacing mine this year mostly because I want a headunit with built in ipod controls. Im leaning towards the New Pioneer 710BT but it doesnt come out till April //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif The New eclipse looks nice too.

Just got my 9887 installed last night, and so far I like it, but I can't seem to figure out how to search by artist, song title, album, etc. on the ipod . I can only find quick search that allows you to select which track number out of all the songs, but that doesn't do me any good since I don't know which track is what. Can anyone help me figure out how to search on the ipod?

you trying to like type in an artist name? i dont know how it works, but let me know what you find out. did you check the manual?

I checked the manual, and it said to press the search button, but when I did that nothing happened. When I held the search button it came up with the quick search like it was suppossed to. I just kept messing with stuff, and I'm not sure what I did, but now when I hit the search button it comes up with the search menu just like it should. So all is well now, but I just wish I knew what the problem was.

No, it's not defective... I bought it from a member on this site, and saw it working just fine before I bought it from him. It's a pretty fancy headunit with tons of features, I'm sure I was just missing something.

i have the 7200 and went to that from the 8455...NO ISSUES at all to include down to ipod control....The visual kinda sucks in bright daylight but im close to seattle....we dont have that here often lol...other than that ipod control is easy enough. Hit the source button when it loads ipod you then hit one button. that brings up your artist, playlist, song, genre, etc menu. From there you choose by pressing the BIG KNOB, from there it goes inside that menu...IF you want to get back to the previous menu you press RETURN. Absolutely no issues there. Ive used it with a 5th gen ipod 80 gig and a Classic 160, no problems with either. No problem with importing phone book either from my razr...on the Palm Treo...I havent figured that out lol...although i dont use the bluetooth option as you never want te phone displaying a number you want hidden from the old lady lol....

what about if youre listening to a song and the menu disappears after like 30 seconds (like it normally does with most decks). you just got the rehular screen saying the track title and elapse time etc. say you want to go back to where you left off (at a certain artist for example), can you simply press a button to get back there, or do you have to start all the way from A again? oh, and how quickly can you scroll through the ipod lists? do you use the knob? does it load all the track/artist name very quickly or is there a delay like in the 9800BT?
