I would pick the 9887. One reason is price. Another is that the 7200 has washout (you can't see the shit) in direct sunlight. Go to diymobileaudio.com and use the search feature. There's a ton of threads on this right here. 880prs is another option.

But to get the most out of the 9887 you have to buy the external processor otherwise it doesn't have as many features as the 7200 or the 800PRS.

well price isnt that big of deal. both are still like half what i paid for my 9800BT. 880prs isnt an option because im sure it has the same ipod issues as the 9800BT + its not BT.

what external processor are you talking about for the 9887? i remember reading you need to buy some kind of bluetooth module to use the BT, but the ipod adapter was built in so all you need to buy is the cord.

have you guys personally used either device? im really looking for feedback on the ipod navigation and control.

No, I haven't used either sadly, no one around me has that high end of units. I am currently debating between the 800PRS and 7200 as well.

i hated the f*ckin 9855, got rid of it like the next day. 7998 is nice but old, doesnt have the features i want. plus its got that motorized face issue.

its a tough choice. overall, the alpine sounds better feature wise + its a US company. however, reviews and personal eclipse experience tell me the cd7200 mkII will sound significantly better....

the processor he's talking about is "imprint" from alpine, you hook it up and get alot more options and controls. it's only like 150 bucks, and alot of people, from what i hear, like it alot. the 9886 has better ipod control than the 7, though

that pretty much sold it for me ha ha. yeah, im def getting imprint if i get the alpine. wonder if i can get both on ebay for cheap...
