CD7000 vs. 7998

I love eclipse but I hate the 7000....I use the 5000 and I feel it is a much better deck than the 7000 easy.

Cool, what do you feel makes the 5000 better..? I am just curious, I have not looked it up. The 7000 is my first eclipse since around 1998-1999 and back then I hated them with a passion. The 7000 has changed my mind though...

went to an eclipse avn 5435 and hated it so much after 2 days buying it that i sold it and loved my 9833 so much more after installing it back in, eclipse is all hype for anybody that thinks there an audiophiles. Your basing this on just an AVN, which is by no means an 'audiophile' HU nor did it ever claim to be. Its simply.. Audio/Video/Navigation. Would I put an Eclipse back in my car? Not for my needs, especially with a few Naks,Denons,Denfords and a DRZ sitting on my shelf. But if I needed/wanted something that the AVN is meant for I wouldnt hesitate a AVN7000 or 6610.

i'm just basing everything on my experience, When i'm paying around 1300 for an eclipse it better sound good right? at least have active crossover? Not lag when i press skip for like 5 sec before changing a song. The eclipse decks are uglee and the only model I would pick up is the 8455

Yes, but should sound as good as the next one. Nothing more-nothing less. Why would it 'have' to have an active crossover? You bought the entry level audio VIDEO NAVIGATION piece. It does what it needs to do and quite well. Its certainly unfair to play the I payed $1300 so it should do..... card because it does what you paid for it to do. Again, nothing more-nothing less.

Want to compare it to an Alpine,Pioneer,etc that has active crossovers and a multitude of other 'cool' features? Then I can shoot you down and say.. "well it doesnt have a 6.5" touchscreen, it doesnt play movies,it doesnt navigate me." Lets be fair here and compare apples to apples, not oranges k?

Yup Im a fan boy, thats what it is. I stated some facts, obviously a bit more than you can chew or swallow, so get over it. You obviously dont know how to make fair comparisons, but then again your still young, youll learn with time.
