cd5100 vs cd8051

i recently bought a cd5100 brand new for 140 shipped.

on craigslist my friend finds a used but in good condition cd8051 with 8 disc changer for 200. he gets the guy to 150, and bought it. he likes the 5100 better (becuase of ipod control, the screen, etc)

i like the ipod feature too, which the 8051 doesnt do (it can, but cant be controlled through the HU) but the 8051 seems to have better processing, 8v preouts, overall better for what id use it for vs what he would (just normal use)

so im gonna trade him. good deal? i used to have a cd8445 with 8v preouts and i loved it. i think its a good deal. ill live without the ipod control through the headunit.

You're going to be too loud to notice a diff in sound from the source anyways. So go with the 5100 for user friendly-ness. run a line driver if you really want that extra source headroom.

Well its got tiptronic, good enough *** hhah. I've driven it like 3 times so far. I kind of have buyers remorse, but whatever, good deal, just don't think I'll be daily driving it as planned to do, to save so much gas. I'm 5 10. rear seats are useless as you know, so if not walling it, something that'll take up everything behind the front seats will be in. I think sub forward port back would be an option.

my setups before the wall were sub back port back and that got pretty **** loud and sounded great (although the hatch rattled like crazy, where now it doesnt rattle at all)

if you're not dailly driving it, a wall might be an option, becuase idk how that things gonna drive being that its not supercharged or anything..

i kinda like the color, i say loose all the chrome though. black lights, grille, handles, the chrome beltline under the glass, tint windows, black rims, etc. i think that color would go badass with black accents and tint.

Yeah, black 17's will be done up soon. My friend puts black nylon pannyhose over his escalade lights, we are going to try wrapping these. It should look clean. paid 12.5 out the door
