cd skipping??

i recently bought a brand new kenwood cd player... ive installed everything correctly but when i put a cd in the first four songs cut out when there playing.... no matter the volume level, but after the first four they play just fine, i know its not the cd b/c ive played it on other players and all cd's cut out on their first 4 songs... what could be the problem?
