how much better is it to have a cd of one song and a mp3 192 kbps or even 320 lets say of the same song will u know a big difference from the the cd vs the mp3 and i do know now theres mp3 compression for say pioneer has it but im not sure how it all works. just seeing how much clarity we really lose when playing mp3s now a days

Ack! Flashbacks! Flashbacks!

This topic has been done a MILLION times before. Search button is your friend. Direct CD rips with the newest version of LAME, a good bitrate, and some knowhow make for VERY high quality rips that will be quite transparent against CDs. The run of the mill 128/192 KBPS MP3 downloaded off ye-olde internet will be not so high in quality.

Also, just my opinion, OGG / Vorbis mows over MP3 in every possible way except commonplace acceptance.

Also realize that some CDs are poorly recorded (Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication is the worst I have heard) and bitrate won't make one bit of difference. On the other hand, well recorded albums such as Pink Floy's Dark Side of the Moon (and everything else engineered by Alan Parsons) or Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing, I believe benefit from being ripped in a lossless format.

This is also dependent on your playback devices. I go from my Ipod using ALAC to my Xin Supermacro headphone amp via a audiolineout cable, and then to my Grados, Sennheisers or Ety's and I can hear a difference. On my B&W's with my McCormack pre-amp and amplifier I hear less of a difference. In the car I can hear even less.

You will trade off quality for space to some degree but you have to draw your own line as to what value the space or quality has. I don't think AAC is bad, but I think ALAC or FLAC via exact audio copy are much better.

CDs are more like 1mbps, about 3 times the bitrate / data of a 320kbps MP3. It they were 14411 kbps you'd be talking about 100 megs for a single minute of music.
