CD player

I just bought this new cd player, and when I first used it, it worked fine, but today when I cut it on, it wouldnt play at all, and all I got was a pop in my speakers when it first cut on, any ideas on what might be wrong?

I had the same problem and it ended up being one of the sub wires were touching the metal on the bottom of my trunk, If you have subs check there but other wise than that your right,it is insanely hard to find it.
