cd player not reading cd's.

ok, i got a free pioneer premier free from a guy at work. its an older model. 2003, i believe. well, it wont read my cd's not cd-r's, cd-rw's, regular cds. i believe its a deh680. the box is in my truck. what could the problem be? do you think it could be fixed? possibly a cleaning?
