CD head unit reads failure.

I just hooked up an Alpine mrp-f250 4 channel amp to my Sony cdx-f7710 head unit. When I turn the car on there is about a 4 second buzz and the screen reads failure. Once i touch a knob the failure goes away. We wired the front speakers from the wiring harness back by splicing into the harness and the backs straight to the amp. It also does the same buzz when I turn the car off. Can anyone help me diagnose the problem? I have no idea what is going on. Thanks.

I know this is old, but my Sony is doing this chit too. I found this:

FAILURE (Illuminates until any button is pressed.)

The connection of speakers/amplifiers is incorrect.

---+ See the installation/connections manual of this

model to check the connection.

FAILURE (Illuminates for about I second.) (CDXGT320/

GT32Wonly)

When the SAT tuner is connected, storing an SAT

radio channel into a preset failed.

---+ Be sure to receive the channel that you want to

store, then try it again.

LOAD (CDX-GT320/GT32W

I dont know how this makes any sense. I caped off my speaker outputs because I am running RCA to amps. I am wondering if Sony deck needs to have speaker hooked up directly to function properly.? Please tell me your thoughts on this. I get the failure warning with the AUX , and CD.
