I will be buying a Kenwood eXcelon KDC X790 from RJesus in a couple of days but the only problem is that the h/u wont take cd's. He said that the motor that accepts and ejects the cd's does not work. Is there anyway you can get this fixed? If not its fine, I will just use my iPod Touch and play music that way.

Last question: Do you get better music quality through an iPod or Cd's? or is it the same?

CD's produce better quality of course. IPODS compress all music files quality is far from the same but if you listen to rap you wont notice the diff. Even on most types of music the avg person wont notice the diff. But just to answer your question ya CD's produce better quality

What about SD Cards and flash drives? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Unless you select a better format. All my music on my ipod is lossless format and ripped from original cd's. SO what you are saying is not entirely true. It all depends on what the consumer selects as the format fo there music.

alright..thats what I thought but I wasnt sure...anyone know anything about fixing the motor for the disc on the cd player?
The reason it's not accepting the cd is because that the unit's software is seeing an error state in one of the limit switches, or one of the motors are not engaging correctly or at all which throws an error code and then ejects the cd. Its not worth getting repaired, if anyone would even touch it to start with.

I haven't used a cd for actual music since 2006 and I don't miss them that much. Just make sure that deck has eq settings you are comfortable with and your digital music is of the highest quality and you shouldnt notice a difference

ftw. I don't have a CD player in my car and why would I need one? My SD card can hold hundreds of tracks, compared to a CD that can hold maybe 20.
