So, it's not EXACTLY a HU, but I need some input. I am trying to mount a 6 disc changer in my vehicle. I can either mount it in a vertical mounting style, or horizontal, but I would have to cut some interior sheet metal. Space is the issue here.

The problem is, I had been told by a good installer over 10 years ago, only to install a changer in the horizoltal mounting style. He said he didn't care if they were supposed to be able to install vertically, or not. They will be more inclined to skip, if mounted that way. OK, now, that was a long time ago, and technology has come a long way since then. whether he was right then, or not doesn't matter. Does it apply now? Is it OK to install the changer vertically, or should I play it safe and install it horizontally? The changer does indicate that it can be installed either way.
