Cavalier disassembly

If you bought and installation kit, it has instructions on how to remove the panels to access everything...well at least the kit I used for my car, my buddies mom's minivan, his civic, my brothers celica...you get the point.

Getting that deck out of that car is not fun.

We did my buddies 2000 cavy.

you have to remove the top of the dash to get at the deck.

And by kit he means the installation kit for your new deck.

Yes, but its a manual for the headunit installation kit; The plastic piece and trim kit your installing.

Better yet, just go to "Best kits and harnesses" website and see if you can access the installation manual for the kit taht fits your car. It'll tell you everything you need to remove.

im not installing one yet, ill prolly have it professionaly installed when i buy one, right now im just looking at the stock one and seeing if i want to upgrade to a new deck

I believe there are 13 screws to remove everything (not incl. the radio iirc).

Been a little while since I've done a cavy but you do have to take the whole top of the dash off. Start at the vent in the middle of the dash (by the winshield), and just look around for screws elsewhere. I'm too lazy tonight to tell you where all the screws are.
