ok so i understand running bass boost , gain all the way up, hu turned all the way up, loudness on hu all can cause an amp to clip . now heres my problem my gain is around 1/4 my hu is at volume 15 out of 40, my loudness, bass boost and any of the boost features are all turned down or off. headunit puts out 4 volts. but when i reach volume 15 the amp clips sub starts sounding like crap makin whacking sounds and a burrrr burrrr noise. now the sub has not even began to hit . i dont understand???? i could see if im over driving the sub but how could i if this happens before it even makes bass?

wiring issue? No wrong load at the amp? No box is shitty? No lots of reasons No. give specifics on the entire setup or everyone will flame you.

If we wanted 4 wrong answers, we would've asked EndofDays.

It's probably a sub problem, or you have it on HP rather than LP.

wiring = rcas from hu to amp, speaker wire from amp to sub.. not much to fuk up there.

subwoofer= single sub dd 1510 wired at 2 ohms both pos+ connect then run to + on amp , both neg- connect go to - on amp. subwoofer is dual 4ohms

box is 1.5 35hz quality built no air leaks, truck wedge sub on passenger side ported out the driver side

headunit = avh4100dvd

electrical= stock alt stock battery ,1/0 wire back to hc800 behind driver seat splits to two 4g to each amp. each amp grounded at the rear bolts that hold the seat down to bare metal, battery grounded to the frame.

Nvm, didn't see it was doing it before any music was even playing... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

heres a vid i made showing dmm at the amp truck on voltage stays up. the sounds coming from the sub sound identical in person as the vid sounds. amp is not clipping in the vid.

!!! One of my old setups did this when I grounded the chassis of the amp via metal mounting screws right to the frame of the car. There was a broken chassis-ground connection inside the amp. When I removed the screws for that, it worked again. The ground connection for the amp was connected to the rear battery, and to ground. Never figured it out, decided to use nylon bolts to fasten it down in stead. I figure it was a ground loop of the sort, but I did not want to run another wire to the front big 3 ground connection.

how sure are you of the tuning? that port looks huge to be 35 Hz at 1.5 cubes. give some exact specs on the box. from the video it "sounds" like it is bottoming but im on a laptop with junk speakers.
