Cats

I would rather have a cat. They are less needy.
Well I enjoy doing stuff with my dogs. I used to go to a frisbe contest with my German Shephard. Was pretty cool to watch all the cool tricks from the smaller dogs. My dog got pwned! Course she was 120 lean pounds and was one of the bigger ones, but still was fun! Also my dog liked to swim and was gonna enter her in a jumping contest, but decided against it. Still was a lot of fun to watch those dogs leap! Most cats hate water from the ones I have had or seen. Not saying cats can't do things or are not smart, but IMO, dogs pwn cats on almost every level. I agree if you don't want to spend much time with an animal, then get a cat.

The best way to get a cat to use the tower for scratchig is to catch them using something else, pick them up, and put their claws on the rope/carpet on the tower. My cats figured it out with that method, and a squirt gun otherwise. >.>

I wouldn't go about declawing them. Cats are sneaky ****s and will find a way outside. An alley cat roaming the neighborhood/woods will not take kindly to another cat in his area. Cats need either defense, or a way to climb shit to avoid situations.

My sister's male cat was declawed but it still managed to catch all kinds of shit outside... birds, squirrels, mice, etc. The cats I live with now (roommate's) aren't declawed, and they are VERY well behaved with them. Cats are kinda hit and miss...
