Cash for Clunkers

I kind of doubt cash for clunkers had an effect on the number of hatchbacks. There was a specific limit on the gas mileage (something low like had to be less than 18mpg) and most hatchbacks get decent gas mileage...hell mine gets 30mpg

$4,500 I believe. The transmission was shot, but it was still worth around $10k as is.
I kinda figured on the ****** issues. That is a "nail in the side" for mopar.

We got a few clunkers in at my dealer and let me say, they were not worth the paper the receipt was written on.

One comes to mind....

1991 Chevy Corsica. 280K miles...POS!!

IIRC, the gave the guy $1500 for it!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

lol, Corsica's are beasts though...my gf has one that's a 1990 and something like 150k miles on, still runs like a champ. The ignition switch did break on it but I just pulled the dash apart and wired in an aftermarket switch to basically let her hotwire the car...

Ya they are.

My wife has a 93 Olds Cutlass S with 198K and other than a leak hear and there, it just wont quit.

best part is that old 3.1L still gets 28mpg average on the hwy.

We still drive it to Ga every few months when I go there for work.

Thats just a hair under what my 4cyl S10 gets!!

Plus my gf's mom accidentally backed into her Corsica with her Kia Rio, the Corsica literally had not a scratch on it and it almost crumpled the Kia's fender...They just don't build them like that anymore...

My '00 Grand Cherokee is a tank. I was hit by a woman last month when it snowed & she slid into my Jeep. Scratched my bumper cover & cracked the passenger headlight... **** near totaled her Honda CR-V, destroyed her front end.

Grand Cherokees are soldiers, one of my friend has a 94(with the 5.7 V8) and he didn't change oil EVER... just add it when it got low. Dude didn't take care of it at all but it still lasted for 150k miles before it died. Roommate''s girlfriend has a 2000(also with the V8) and it has 199k miles right now, still seems to run pretty well.

I want to get one of those because they just soldier on.
