Cascade- Designs Omega 12".

Hmm. Wonder if my SPL-12s would take a 3000D daily each, possibly on 16V..
Can you get the baskets a diff color? I'd like a purple-blue with alot of flake... but I got these SPL-12s now, and if I wanted two of these Omegas, 12s, would be $814 without shipping... in canadian dollars... Too much for me, right now.
Sneak them over the border possibly?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

Whats the longest you had them running? Did you happen to feel the cone for heat?
I really don't drive much other than my ride to and from work. I was telling Alex on my way home from work I try and play them near full tilt which is about a 25-35 min drive in rush hour traffic. With a few breaks in between to find a song and a lane change here and there.. They take the power great. As expected the dustcap is warm to touch but not hot.. And there is no odor from the coils getting to hot. They are durable. Send them a clean signal and they will take what you can responsibly give them.

Edit: I did this every night on my way home from work when installed. Once i would get home i would check the subs over to check for odor and check how hot the cone is to touch.

If they start to smell, just give them a bath in hot water. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Well got some more in depth testing in today. Re-set all my gains on my 20.1 and played around with some tones. Woofer is nice. Gets low and it hits highs nice. Ill see over time if it keeps the tightness it has. Im comparing it to my MT wich im not sure is good but i would consider these in about the same catagory for woofers. Thing i like most about the omega is the tightness it has for all around notes. My MT lost its tightness. There was a certain frequency range where the MT hit really nice, and it smashed the lows out of the ball park. The omega hits them both great for my taste. Everyone is different, and its kind of hard to explain. It sounds really great, still not sure i would recommend it for someone who's goal is SQ. If you like a mix then this woofer is nice, and if you like just complete loudness it wont dissapoint you either. But thats my take on it for now until i can get it on my saz3000D. how do they compare spl wise with the mt?

how do they compare spl wise with the mt?
Louder and more accurate like the post's above. I ran a 15" MT and i went to a 12" omega to test and they are comparable in loudness. Being the MT is a 15 and the omega is a 12 i was impressed.
