Carputer 101

anyone know how to determine the power draw from processor and mb? i want to see if i can use a slightly more powerful system, but still make sure i can match up a power supply. newegg doesn't say anything.

Shit...there was a site that was posted on MP3car that showed how much power diff processors drew...Athlon 64's are power hogs...the Turion's pull less then 1/2 the power then the Athlon 64's...which is why I went with a Turion.

AMD Turion™ 64 mobile technology is the most advanced family of simultaneous 32- and 64-bit Windows®-compatible processors made for mobility uniquely optimized to deliver AMD64 performance in thinner and lighter notebook designs with longer battery life, enhanced security*, and compatibility with the latest wireless and graphics technologies, today and tomorrow.

do you have a sounddomain link or something of your setup? if i could get away with a faster setup instead of using a mini itx board, then i'd be happy.

Like I posted before, OPUS has a new 320W DC-DC PSU. This greatly expands the selection of processors. You pretty much are no longer limited at all unless you are going completely overkill with power. You could easily run any mobile designed processor, even P4s and low end Athlons with 320 watts.
