This car is a honda crx with:REBUILT MOTOR less than a year old. What does a rebuilt motor really mean?

My car is at the body shop right now....he noticed my whole car has been repainted, and the back left quarter panel has had body work on it. None of it showed up on my carfax.. He told me his car has been in 5 accidents... 4 which have been taken care of through his car insurance, and all had police reports. he has a perfect carfax report. He told me to never trust them, they are 90% wrong or not showing something. Oh, and his car has been repainted...carfax still shows the original color.

yeah, i was definitely kinda thinking it was too good to be true. I called my pops, and he said when he was helping some one buy a car, (VW golf) he carfaxed it and there was nothing wrong. As soon as they bought the car, they were given invoices to a new hood and engine repairs because there was like a anvil like piece of metal droped on the hood causing 5000 dollars worth of damage.

if a motor is REALLY rebuilt, its got new valve guides, new valve seals...EVERYTHING gone through, inspected and measured and all the bad things replaced...alot of ppl will just through a set of rings on a motor and SAY its rebuilt...
