doesw anyone know how to carbon fiber? Is it just like fiberglassing? I know you need a clear resin, but do you need the vaccum to put the piece in?

yup pretty much the same as fiberglassing using woven roving or a fiberglass cloth. You can hand lay it, and you dont need to vaccuum bag it. You can use polyester or epoxy resin on it. If the piece is not being used for a structural part than stick with the polyester resin as it is cheaper. You only need a clear resin for the asthetics of the piece, if you are going to paint over it then you can use any resin.

sweet. see i was told that you can't paint over carbon fiberglass. could you also explain to me how you do that. do you put any bondo? and if im painting am i better off using carbon fiber(is it lighter)then fiberglass? cause im going to be building a system in my new car and weight is an issue. thanks.
