Alrite..im lookin to build a carbon fiber box for two 15" subs.. about how much does it cost, how much trouble was it to make..and does any1 have pics so i can get an idea..

good luck carbon fiber isn't as flexible as fiberglass, and most times (all the time as far as i know) the object needs to be vaccum formed

also there is currently a carbon fiber shortage so prices have gone up....alot

Its like $30 and up for a yard of CF. And yeah theres a bad shortage for some odd reason.

Stick for fiberglass IMO.

Let's see here my man.

It would be ungodly expensive for one thing.

True structural carbon fiber doesn't take to tight curves and such. So it would be a complete pain to try and mold an entire enclosure out of it.

Structural carbon fiber isn't all pretty like the cosmetic stuff.

Gotta use epoxy resin. Polyester don't cut it.

If you want the look. You could always make a fiberglass enclosure. Then do an outside layer of cosmetic cf and use clear casting resin. The way I have always done it . Lot cheaper, lot easier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

just make it out of fiberglass and mdf. then just use CF on the outside.
