CarAudio101.net ?

Id be down. Hardknox I think hes referring to more of a basic car audio FAQS type site rather than just a huge compilation of basic technical jargon like BCAE.
That's a good explanation, thanks.

For the moderation staff on the site I'd most likely just choose the mods on here or something since you guys know what you're talking about lol

Sounds like something the Dr. would say.

I would think that you have a layout that would allow beginner, basic, and advanced type of information. The site admin could/should be more of a collective to keep from having a narrowed point of view.

That's one of the things I was worried about. It would essentially just be a car audio wiki I guess which is why I want people to be able to go in and add info.

Not so sure on a wiki idea.
Well, not really like a wiki. People could maybe report something as being inaccurate or ambiguous and the mods would take it up from there. The site wouldn't be like a wiki where people can go freely edit stuff. I meant it being a wiki in the sense that everything was setup like in a hierarchy and words would be auto-linked to different pages. So for example, if in an article it was describing how too low of an impedance could cause the amp to go into protect, the word "impedance" would be linked to an article which explains how impedance is resistance on an AC circuit or whatever

wiki=bad idea. Do you want dr. subwoofer going in there offering his expertise?
^^^^^^

I think dr. sub would make for a great example in the "car audio don'ts" section //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I personally think the most efficient means of getting specific information a noob needs is through a live public forum inhabited by other car audio enthusiasts.
by no means would it be a replacement for this site if that's what you're thinking. it's just that the same questions keep getting asked over and over again, and it would be much more convenient to have it all stored on one site.

No I dont think it would replace a site like this. I just think it would be A LOT of data to maintain, for a relatively few people. The data would not be as robust as it is on a public forum. And it would be virtually impossible to approach the experience level with specific products, install techniques, and general knowledge that the collective whole of a community on a public forum has.
