CA.com happens to be the worst and best site for your car audio needs at the same time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Commenting mainly on the mixed sub sizes here.
I know for my Cavi my perfect setup for full range of bass will be 2 10's and 2 12's. i'll be running 4 inch highs in the front and 6x9's in the rears. I don't amp my highs because truth be told you don't really need to. Your deck pushes enough wattage to your speakers that you don't really need to, unless you're running really high end highs such as Lanzar. You can run a perfectly good setup without doing that. It's different for each car but 2 10's and 2 12's will do a full range very well.

what a cute amp lol
get rockfords.

and loudness depends 95% on amplification and the power of your signal
vs.

There's absolutely no reason to mix subwoofer sizes. Whoever told you that is just as clueless as yourself.
Get yourself a nice sub (DC, Fi, Audioque, Incriminator, SSA, Digital Designs, Sundown Audio etc) and put it into a proper enclosure.

DC - DC Audio - Home (you'll have to call them or find a local dealer)

Fi - http://www.ficaraudio.com

SSA - Sound Solutions Audio SSA Subwoofers

Incriminator - Incriminator Audio Subwoofers @ SSA

Audioque - Audioque

Digital Designs - Digital Designs Speakers Made in the USA - Car, Home, and Personal Audio | ddaudio.com (you'll have to call them or find a local dealer)

Sundown - Sundown Audio Subwoofers @ SSA

As far as amplifiers, look into Sundown, Audioque, Arc Audio, US Amps, Rockford Fosgate, Incriminator Audio, ZED, etc...

Everything depends on your budget. You may have to settle for Boss and Lanzar. I don't know, because you didn't mention anything about how much money you want to spend.
the reason you hear more bass from a stock set of speakers is they play full range versus just playing mids and highs. Aftermarket speakers are made to play with subs not against them by playing above their frequency to combine to make a full sound rather than cancellation

??

that wasn't meant to be a serious post. and i was simply trying to get across the point that speakers don't really determine "loudness" sure some are more sensitive than others. but really they are passive drivers that convert energy. do you want me to go back and redit my post? it would be futile

and, you are wrong. DIYMA is the best!

I love urinal cake //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So... you're saying... you can get better advice on here than you can on DIYMA? baaaahahahaha...

maybe, just maybe, you can get better advice on a super-mega SPL setup, and stuff like that. but DIYMA is overall more respectable, less about the "bling" and more about the applications and doing things right, people know what they're talking about (the average education level is way higher), and the people aren't anywhere NEAR as rude or immature as the charlatans here on this site
