I was coming home from my sisters 2 days ago and it starting making a weird noise. Coming off of the main street the car shut off. I pulled off to the side. The car would not start and sounded bad trying to. Well my friends parents own a shop and they towed it up to my house. It decided to start yesterday morning. It sounds pretty bad. Now it starts every time without a problem but still sound bad. anyone have a clue what the problem is?

Can go get a better vid now. it is light out

Wow ya that sounds horrible. It kinda sounds like you have some valve knock, or you couldve spun a bearing.

Were you driving it hard?

I know a guy that was "racing" his pos civic and over revved it and spun a bearing, sounded almost exactly like that

Was not driving it hard. What would you think it would cost to fix either of the problems.

I am not about to drop alot of money into an 89 camry that needs inspected in 2 months anyways

I am not too good with cars. But i think i am just going to scrap it. its old and has body damage.

I will need a couple hundred to pass inspection plus this. It is not worth it.

Sounds like a rod knock to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif rebuild time.
x2.

Time for an upgrade, bish.

It's cheaper than stock parts sometimes. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

ill try to get it looked at. but I do not want to have to pay to have it towed there then be told 500+ to repair. ill put 300 tops into this

how old are you???? Remove the oil pan and check the main journals. From my experience, that sound has come from a loose rod cap and/or slipped main bearing. It will be obvious.
