They will be having classes for SPL, Sound Quality and possibly a class for those loud systems with the really annoying horns and tweeters. Classes will be based off the size and number of subs. $20 registration fee for the Sound portion. If anyone has further questions they can call Mega-Watt at 508-229-2233. This is NOT an NESPL event, it's being hosted by Mega-Watt as part of the Mass Appeal show. They said they'll be using the same meter as IASCA (termlab?) placed at the windshield and vehicles will be sealed. There will be plenty of stuff going on besides the car show, DJ's, Bikini Contests etc.

all the ac 190 meters i was on are all dead on with the tl. i have been to at least 7 with the ac and i own a tl. also been to dbdrag events with the same result

It depends on who is running the AC meter and how they adjust the sensitivity levels. I've seen the AC190 where it was off by .2db's, .5db's, even 4 db's. The AC180 I've seen be off by as much as 10 db's over the TL. I had a kid have his new system tested at a shop using the AC190 and he did a 154.6, then we put it on the TL the next day and he was hitting a 148.1, thats a big difference. I know that shop had to have adjusted the sensitivity to boost his ego, and I'm sure it's done at some shows too.

A good calibrated 180 is usually 6 db higher then the TL. I've competed in DB Drag, USACi, MECA, IASCA and SLAP and an assortment of numerous unsanctioned shows. I've been around for quite sometime.
