car audio batteries

I'm talking about kinetik mainly. How are they better for audio needs than any other type of battery? And are they used under the hood, for cranking and what not, or are they mainly used as a second battery in the trunk? And if a battery is put in the trunk and used as a backup, how does it maintain its charge?

They are sealed and do not leak or corrode battery acid. If you put it inside the car you don't have to worry about toxic fumes coming from it. They have a lower internal resistance than normal bats. They tend to hold charge longer, handle abuse better, and have a longer life expectancy. Plus they are really easy to load a lot of terminals on (using 3/8" bolts).

they also tend to have slightly higher voltage than a wet non sealed cell. you can use them under the hood just fine. they are deep cycle and they also have a very large capacity for their size.

Just bought me a 1400 the other day and i couldn't complain. No more dimming or voltage drops. I dont know if its me but i also feel like my system is more alive now. Before, I would crank it up to about 27 on my X889 before distortion. Now i play it at 30 with no distortion and feels like i can notch it a few more times. Im not that brave yet.

yeah besides i'm being four reelz...

here's some more helpful info... buy some 3/8th all thread, nuts washers and ring terminals with your kinetik... the terminals that come with it are so short they're almost useless (unless you're using the top post style attachment)...

Adding a second battery before an high output alternator will just put 2x the strain on your stock alternator with the 2nd battery. Big 3, Under hood battery, Alternator, Extra batteries in that order

2 times the strain? BULL SHEET! 2nd battery doesnt have a electric fan, AC power windows, ignition or even fancy butt warmers for your seat.

i had 2 batterys in my path with no probs thats prob cause it came with a 120amp alt. your civic and camaro come with 80 amp alts i believe not to sure i know the civic has a small one. dont think it going to like charging 2 batterys for very long. get a H/O alt do the big 3 and get more batts and 0/1 gauge wire and call it a day
