would 4 gauge be enough to do the big 3 with
Use the same or bigger gauge that you have used on your amps, nothing smaller than that..

in other words, if you used 4 ga on amps install, then 4 ga is fine for Big 3..

if you used 1/0 on amps, then Big 3 needs to be 1/0...

and for what it worth, I would not run a amp install or Big 3 with anything smaller than 1/0.... that way you are covered for future upgrades....
