i just bought a 15" kicker l7 and i was planning on getting a capcell to help power it. but the power acoustik capcells are 16v dc and my car is 12v dc. how do i overcome this problem?

No cap, caps are for the most part useles, get a kinetic 600. That will be far superior to a cap and probably cheaper too

will i need to upgrade my alternator with a kinetic 600? the reason i wanted to buy a capcell is because i keep going through altrernators like crazy and the power acoustik website says:

"A second alternator is not necessary, making the Cap Cell a perfect addition and an affordable way to supply the necessary power for a system."

No you wont need a new alt with that small batt, what amp are you running? If its a higher power amp it might be a good idea to upgradt the alt. Have you done the big 3 yet? And what size are your power/ground cables?

depending on what amp you plan on using a second alt isn't always "necessary" then again neither is your L7. but to power your L7 happily your probably running a big amp and i'd say at least a second battery would be advised.

i havnt set up my stereo yet cuz i took it out after i blew my fourth alternator so i didnt do the big 3 yet. lol. but my alternator is 105 amps and i have a hifonics txi7508 amplifier. what size cables should i use?

i was gonna just put a second battery in because that seems like the cheapest option but wouldnt that put MORE strain on the alternator since it will be charging 2 batteries instead of 1?

You blew 4 alts?? I think there might be something else wrong with your car than the system, I have never heard of blowing them that fast unless your talking about over a few years.

And for 750rms I would do 4gauge power and ground and 1/0 for the big 3

well they all blew within a year. i had the the car checked out a few times and they keep telling me its my stereo

Pick up another batt. That way you have a 2nd souce to pull current from rather than taking hard hits to your alternator. Also your alt charge at a more steady pace, rather than charging spikes. Not entirely true, But I would agree like 98% of the time

I have only found that capacitors helped out on dimming on higher frequencies like 60-80hz and batteries are awesome for the lows. but thats just me. . .
