can a "good for mids and highs" cap be used for a sub? the RFC1D is what im getting, and i read AFTER i bought, that its "good for mids and highs".

yea, it will work great. but not as good as it should. if you want it to work like the ones that are made for sub amps then put alot of duck butter on the one you have and there ya go!!!

so i ended up buying a power acoustiks 2 farad cap for my system. i hooked it up, and when i pushed it, the amp shut off into "thermal protection."

i had batt terminal (+) to a distributor. one end to the cap, then cap to ground, and the other end to the amp, then amp to ground.

is there somethign that i did wrong in that schematic?

i know a cap isnt needed.. i just like the extra thing for the sub. =P

scrap the cap.

i run SAZ1500D and a 3515DD with no cap... get a battery. Done

Should explain more... i run that and a SAX100x4 on my stock battery with a kinetik 2400 all with 1/0 never going to and never will have an electrical problem.
