Your supposed to set your gains according to the voltage output of your headunit's RCA's. The higher the RCA voltage the lower you set your gains. With 2 volt RCA's you set it 3/4 to full, but with 4 and 5+ volt headunit's your best to leave it at the minimum.

i didn't know that. i turned mine down today to where it says "nom" which is about half. it's still loud, and the voltage drop improved...but it's still there. i think a new battery would help me out alot.

caps are junk, for the most part.

Yeah, a new battery might help you out. Make sure it's a good deep cycle batt like an Optima Yellow Top.
