capacitor won't go off???

i have a question for anyone with a digital cap. are they suppose to have some sort of another wire besides the positive and negative terminals connected? i didn't notice anything on the one i just purchased from a guy off ebay. when playing music hard, it would drop down a few .xx volts. when i turned my truck off though, the cap was still reading 14.xxx volts. it's been a half an hour now, and the cap is reading something around 12.8. should it turn itself off after it gets so low? thanks. maybe there is something i have missed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

so how would i go about hooking that up? just going with the remote turn on wire, to the cap, and then to the remote turn-on on the amp? thanks

i'm not sure about yours, but on mine it turns off after 30 sec. i've never known of a turn on/off link on it

yeah-- all of the dig ones have a smaller 3rd terminal for the remote turn on.

how much did you pay for it....if not much it is a cheep one and you will have/can wire in a switch to shut it off...thats all i can think of....

actually, i got to school today, and left it hooked up, then came back in like 2 hours and, whadayaknow, it turned itself off! i guess it was just in the process of charging itself and never got fully charged before it turned itself off. after shutting the truck off now, it takes a couple of minutes before going off. sorry, false alarm!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i can get a MEAN *** switch...it has like 1/0 ga input and output.....its not for car audio but thats ok...
