Brand doesn't really matter. They are all made by a few companies, just different stickers for the most part. Where you going to put it? You could get a pair of 1/2 Farad 'commercial' caps for less money and wire them inline about a foot from each headlight. Should solve that issue if thats what your trying to accomplish.

thanks Squatchie, will keep that in mind

If you get one, get one with a voltage meter....at least you'll get some use out of it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

i really dont understand why people in here dont like capacitors so much.. i mean yeah buying a ho alternator would be the best thing to do and solve all problems but i mean everyone doesnt have 300-1000 dollars to spend on it.

ive got a 3 farad stinger cap with stinger battery and my volt meter on my nav always reads 13.8 no matter what.

HID headlights, dvd/nav system, interior LED's, 1250.1 amp, 150.4 amp all running in a honda civic. seems like the cap and batt are doing their job.

Despite all of the shit I gave you today, listen to most people. Don't get a capacitor. There are better ways to help the situation. Search on the topic and you will find everything you need. The big three is a sticky in one sub-forum too.

That, and stop running Sony in your car, they really are in-efficient.

Becuase you can buy a battery for cheaper and have the same or better effects as buying a cap. A HO alt is only one option.

but isnt a 1 farad cap equal to 1 battery? i was told that one time back when i was first starting car audio. i could be wrong and never sought out whether that was true but a guy at a car audio shop did tell me that once.

Have you heard of Kinetik batterys? If not, look into their site - http://www.kinetikaudio.com/.

Even a simple battery has more storage capacity then a 1 farad capacitor.

Look at Kinetik's entry line battery - here.

I'll just quote it for you:

Kinetik HC600 Power CellMore powerful than 100 1 farad caps!

Extreme power in a small package. Mount near your amplifier for 800 amps of power reinforcement. Easily starts a V8 engine!
Thats actually a pretty small battery.

They can also be had on ebay for $115 shipped - here. BTW I am in no way associated with Kinetik, I am however familair with their products so I use them for example. Optima's are also a good brand.

i have a stinger battery that works amazing. it was 25 below yesterday morning and my car started flawlessly.

and i actually lost faith in optima over the weekend. read a couple forums about how terrible they have abeen made over the last few years... didnt think much of it just figured it was just a couple people that had bad experiences with them. went to sears to buy my girlfriend one both yellow tops they tried to sell me were defective off the shelf! wouldnt hold a charge.

needless to say wont buy one of those lol

actually im not too familiar with charging systems at all to be honest.

so i guess to answer your question octavio try the big three, dry cell battery that should take care of it. sorry to take over your thread lol
