Capacitor making a noise.

A couple days ago the voltage display on my cap went out so i thought it was just that malfunctioning but ever since when i start my car the cap makes a ticking, winding sound, like a bomb ticking down, and it does this for a good 5 seconds and is noticably loud. Then it will go away and i will turn up my system and it would start to make the same noise, because i could here as i turned it down. But when i went out there yesterday in the afternoon when it had warmed up it did not make the noise at all. What is going on here?

Can someone help me out here? Please do i just need to get rid of the cap or check my wiring, what should i do, and has anyone had this type of thing happen before?

it might just need a little recharging. either that or your voltage might be too low.
