Hey guys,

First time poster. Came over here from some other forum who well weren't very helpful, cough caraudioforum.com cough. Anywho, this is my setup that i have purchased but have yet to install in to my car.

Car:

2007 Hyundai Sonata GLS

Subs:

2 12" Alpine Type R's 1242D

Amp:

Cadence TXA-1000D

Head Unit:

Pioneer Premier DEH-P690UB

Box:

Custom Built Ported enclosure tuned to 33 Hz.

Amp Install Kit:

Knu Konceptz Kolossus Complete 4-Gauge Wire kit

I plan on wiring the subs to a 1 Ohm load on the amp so the subs can get 1000 watts RMS.

My first question is this setup going to be good? I know, not the question i should be asking after i bought everything but is it going to be good? My second question is should i purchase a capacitor? I am going to do the "big 3" upgrade on my car with 1/0 gauge wire. But will i need a cap? I really do not want to spend the money on a h/o alternator and defiantly do not want to buy a new battery on my new car. I was looking on ebay for some cap's and found this Power Acoustik 3 Farad capacitor.

So in a nut shell:

1. Is my system any good?

2. Do i need a cap? if so could you recommend one?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Your system looks pretty decent, and x2 on not buying a cap.
Thanks, I know my setup is not going to be earth shattering but it is my first setup i have ever built. I am so pumped to install everything this week once the amp kit comes in from knu. Just wired the subs in the box and installed the HU today. I am hoping i get the amp kit + extra wiring for the big 3 upgrade on wednesday or thursday from knu.

....you sure you want to install all this stuff in that car? I mean it's a hyundai, it's like that old saying "you cant polish a turd"
Gee thanks lol, it really is not my choice of car. Believe me i would much rather have a different car. I am 16 and lucky to have a car. My dad bought the car for himself but since school started and me starting my new job at best buy i use it everyday so he just gave it to me, all i have to do is just pay for gas while he pays for the monthly payments, not a bad deal if you ask me.

No need for the cap man. Go ahead and do the big 3. The system looks pretty good. Should sound really nice.
Alright, thank you for the help. If all goes well i should have it all installed by next week. i just hope my lights won't dim. But if they do i can always save up for an h/o alternator.

You chose some nice equipment for a first system. Good luck with the installation, make sure you ask if you have any questions about wiring or fuses, don't want to mess anything up.

When you ground your amp find some nice metal in the trunk and use a dremel to grind all the paint off so it's bare metal. Drill a small hole, and use a sheet metal screw and washer to bolt the ring terminal on the wire down to the metal.

It's a good idea to do the big 3 right away. With 1000 watts I don't think you'll have a problem with dimming. And if you do, don't go the cap route. It is an overly commercialized method of fixing electrical problems. I'm not saying that a properly sized capacitor installed correctly does nothing, but you'll be better off with a battery or alt upgrade if you have problems.

What exactly do you drive that is so great?
I'm just messing w/ ya' (though I think there are better cars out there for the money, but if you got it from your folks then it's cool)

As far as what I drive...read my sig...For the purposes of this I drive a M1009
