i had a vfl 150.1 smoke one time when i wasn't using it...with that said if it's under warranty just send it in. removing the cover voids the warranty because someone could just use parts from it to repair another amp and then send that one back to fix it

lmao off not happening. iive smoked amps before this one is bad. i mean it was smoking for like 12 mins for real. i dont think they are gonna be able to fix this board plus i didnt help by not unhooking so it was still taking current wile it was on fire. i mean u cuda fried a food on it

probably a bad cap, or something else loose on the board, but i would also be suspect of your rca's and grounds. i mean, you don't just naturally have one bad sounding rca, and not the other. the new amp probably just dampened the problem...

yea thats what i was thinking. but i thought that a bad rca signal or ground would not cause a amp to fry. or so i was told

ok i currently have a duralast gold under hood thats old and needs replacement. and then i have a big battery in the hatch.

i was given a deep cycle battery. i would like to replace the duralast gold with the deep cycle battery. would it matter which place

i put the deep cycle(under hood or hatch)
